Question What Materials Should I be Hoarding?

As a Warrior/Monk what materials should I be saving up on? I know Iron but what else - I've like 200+ materials of 8-10 varrious types other than Iron. I need more Iron - what should I be keeping what should I be selling/trading?

I don't know what materials warriors need, but I'd say just go to a crafter and see what you need for warrior armor and horde up on that.

This is kinda on topic, can you craft armour sets in pre-searing ascalon?, I'm a necro so it would be necro armour.

Thanks ahead of time.

you can collect items to give to collectors for armor but I never saw a crafter in pre-searing.

I think the crafter outside sardelac just needs charcoal and iron to make steel

Think what he's saying is that you need wood in order to make the steel. 10 wood = 1 charcoal. Then 10 iron and 1 charcoal make 1 steel

Where do you find materials? Are they loot drops or do you find a piece here and there? I haven't seen any metal pieces at all, unless I'm not looking in the right spot.

You have to use a salvage kit to get the materials from items you find.

My advice...HOARD EVERYTHING!!! Here's why:

1) The more raw materials you have, the less hunting you have to do for them later.
2) The more variety in materials you have, the more choices you'll have for crafted item later.
3) Especially hoard the rare stuff, even if you don't think you'll need it, because someone will.
4) The materials you don't use/need later in the game can easily be turned to gold, which you'll also need when you're having an item crafted...
5) Highly sought after items fetch a pretty bit o' coin in the right places...dye, for example, worth only one gp in Old Ascelon, but after the searing in Lion's Arch...whoo-hoo! 300-400 gold at the trader! I save 'em.

Here's the sacrifice you make doing this...you have to manage your inventory very well, or you will find yourself holding up the group while trying to figure out which item to salvage after a tasty drop.

This keeps you, though, from holding on to useless weapons you never really use, gives you quick armor options and liquifiable assets any time...If I sound like I farm/pharm...yup...I do. A tip: (pre-sear)Trade worn belts an skale fins for pouches and save a few...you will always find a buyer...at the very least, a few gold from the local merchant...If Knowledge is power, gold is lubrication

To the guy who asked: There's a crafter in pre-searing Ascalon, near the weapon-upgrading guy (near Prince Rurik). He only crafts weapons, though.
